Taco Biscuit Bake

taco biscuit bake

My family LOVES this for dinner.  I LOVE that it takes only 20 minutes to put together.

Makes 8 servings

Prep:  20 min

Bake: 25 min

INGREDIENTS:

(1) lb. lean (90%) ground beef

2/3 Cup water

1 envelope taco seasoning

2 tubes (12 oz each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

1 can (15 oz) chili con carne

1 Cup (4 oz) shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese

Salsa and sour cream, optional

DIRECTIONS

In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat until no longer pink, drain.  Stir in water and taco seasoning. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

Meanwhile, quarter biscuits; place in a greased 13X9 inch baking dish.  Layer with beef mixture, chili and cheese.

Bake, uncovered, at 375 for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and biscuits are golden.  Serve with salsa and sour cream if desired.
