First Barbecue of 2016!  TODAY!!!!!  Our neighbors are some of the nicest families anyone could ever hope to meet, and today is our first barbecue.  Our hosts are a beautiful young family in our community.  I said I would bring ‘something’ to the barbecue and it has to be ‘special.’The instant I hit ‘publish,’ I am running out to get what I need to make this adorable, scrumptious dessert…..Salted Caramel Brownie Parfait in a Mason Jar.  Let’s be honest — Mason Jars are just the cutest thing and anything served in them becomes 1000x more delicious!

…………and cute beyond cute!!!

If you are pressed for time, use ready-made brownies or the Pillsbury Break and Bake Brownies.  You can use Little Debbie’s Brownie Bites as they are moist and stay in the cube shape when you cut them.  Pudding?  Time crunch?  Jell-O Pudding Snack Packs will do the trick.

Don’t skimp on the pudding or any of the ingredients when making the parfaits…this is one dessert that no one would think of as too much of a good thing!

Wishing you a glorious Sunday!

  • 1 Box of Brownie Mix…follow directions and add a handful of chocolate chips into the batter and bake as directed. When cooled…cut into little squares.
  •  1 regular container of cool whip (Cool Whip tends to ‘hold’ together as opposed to whipped cream or Reddi-Whip Whipped Cream both of which separate — us the Cool Whip)
  • A batch of Homemade Chocolate Pudding or Pre-Made Chocolate Pudding of your choice
  • 4 Regular Sized Kit Kat Bars or the candy of your choice like toffee…etc…
  • Pre-Made Caramel Sauce (I use Smuckers Salted Caramel Syrup)

  • Line up your ingredients……….

jar set up 1

  • place a layer of cubed brownies on the bottom
  • ladle a good tablespoon of caramel sauce over the brownie layer
  • sprinkle a little touch of kosher salt
  • add a layer of whipped cream or cool whip
  • sprinkle a thin layer of crumbled candy
  • add a layer of chocolate pudding (don’t skimp on the chocolate pudding)
  • sprinkle a thin layer of crumbled candy
  • add a layer of whipped cream
  • add another layer of brownie cubed brownies
  • another ladle of caramel sauce with a pinch of salt

jar parfait

  • at this point you can put the lids on and place them in the fridge till you are ready to use and then you can top them with cream…a drizzle of caramel sauce and a touch of candle crumbles. I was bringing the Brownie Mason Jar Parfaits to a neighborhood barbecue a short walk from our house, and I was bringing spoons and whipped cream………
